This energetic and bombastic fanfare is meant to capture the moment in flight when one breaks through the clouds. The work begins with displays of virtuosic flair from different sections, simulating the power it takes to reach the clouds. The middle section, where the main melody is introduced, is floating at a steady cruise, felt in one. The final section of the work combines that floating feeling with the excitement and energy from the beginning, building to one final, powerful strike, as if Superman himself were saying "sayonara!" at supersonic speeds.
